Anika is a Founding Member of Counter-Balance. Recent credits include several productions with Amios’ Shotz in San Francisco and Jane in the World Premier of Jane Eyre with Counter-Balance Theater. Regional credits: By the Bog of Cats with Frank Theater at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Vinegar Tom also with Frank Theater, Jessica in Merchant of Venice and Lucianna in Comedy of Errors at the New Swan Shakespeare Festival, and Dromio in Comedy of Errors at Shakespeare Orange County. Brittany is a founding member of Counter-Balance, and has been seen in its’ premiere productions of Jane Eyre, The Dwarf, and it’s work-in-progress The Odyssey. Brittany appeared in UC Irvine productions as Bun, The Love Talker; Mercy Lewis, The Crucible; and Chickie In Arabia We’d All Be Kings. Brittany studied physical theater under Annie Loui at UC Irvine and notes this training as being the foundation for her theater career. Aside from theater, Brittany has starred in the Milky Way Wars music video for recording artist, James Egbert, and has also been a vocalist for many up-and-coming electronic artists. When she is not onstage, she can be spotted teaching Pure Barre around LA and Orange County. She graduated from UC Irvine in 2011.
Jacob R. Dresch is a graduate of UC Irvine’s Graduate Acting program, and has been featured in several of Counter Balance’s productions: from Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre, Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, to the titular character of The Dwarf. Soren is an actor, mover, teacher and SF Bay Area native. A graduate of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts (UC Irvine, Honors in Acting), Soren has appeared in the Bay and L.A. with many companies. Select credits include the American premiere of Maurice at New Conservatory Theatre Center where he played the title role, and the professional west coast premiere of Sarah Ruhl’s Orlando at TheatreFIRST (Marmaduke and Ensemble). He has also trained and performed with several ensemble groups such as Double Edge Theatre, foolsFURY Theater, Ragged Wing Ensemble and Rogue Artists Ensemble. As a member of Counter-Balance, Soren performed as St. John in the world premiere of Jane Eyre. When not on stage Soren can be found co-teaching Foundations of Flight, an ongoing acting/movement workshop with fellow Counter-Balance company member Anika Solveig.
